This was closely followed by "We've Only Just Begun" which charted at number 2, both these songs were taken from the double platinum selling album "Close To You" which reached number 3 in the U.S. The duo were known as The Carpenters and their first big hit was the Burt Bacharach song "(They Long to Be) Close to You" which reached number 1 in the billboard 100 in 1970.
